Today we hopped over to the Isle of Gigha. It was supposed to be a hike/bike kind of day, but the weather was absolutely horrendous. Apparently everyone had cancelled their E-bike rentals, but here was us newbie E-bike enthusiasts, our first ever ride on an E-bike in atrocious island weather! Lunch was had in the wee Island Cafe before setting off, we passed lots of honesty boxes, a quirky post box, visited Palm Beach and the north board walk. The best beach of the day was on the north west of the island a set of twin beaches leading to the tidal island of Eilean Garbh, with the real beauty being Bagh na Doirlinne. We walked both beaches and just listened to the waves for a while. On our return we detoured through Achamore Gardens and the stones of Bodach and Cailleach.

We covered 15 miles doing the full length of Gigha and other wee loops, battling the wind and cycling with one eye open at times 😆

The original plan had been to walk the Creag-Bhan loop to include the Trig too, the weather was just too horrible and I’ll definitely be back to finish this adventure on Gigha!
