I finally dragged myself out to Drumnadrochit and did Urquhart Bay Woods where I met a lovely lady who recognised me from the group, we both saw some Buddhist Monks wandering out to where the river meets Loch Ness. I had mentioned my plans to the lady of heading up to Corrimony Cairn and waterfalls but she reminded me of the wild fire warning still in place above Cannich. I still wandered and explored Corrimony Cairn and was going to head up to Mony’s Stone where it is said to mark the grave of a Viking raider, one of the Kings of Denmark but there were yellow taped warnings of the fire risk and I was met at a gate by the dreaded cow and calf combo who didn’t look too happy to see me. I turned back and I’ll say hello to the Viking next time!
