The idea of Mount Battock seemed a good idea at the time but I awoke with back pain and my plan B had been Lunan Bay. Luckily we all still managed to meet and did the Walk Highlands route taking in both north and south ends of the beach and the ruins at Redcastle. On our return the tide had come in and without the risk of getting stranded took a-stomp back via the road to Lunan. The hills were calling, but it’s not always about the bigger summits, sometimes it’s just about getting out, putting one foot in front of the other with like minded souls.
