Today’s Colonsay adventure took us to Oronsay across the Strand to Oronsay Priory. Arriving early we followed the tide out to make the most of the tidal times, we had to wade across the last stretch getting a tad wet. We reached the 14th century Augustine priory under moody skies and a fresh island breeze, exploring every nook and cranny of the historical site. Seven miles walked today including a wander up to the McPhee Monument on the way back, finishing our day with tea and cake at the Pantry. Being wary of the tidal times we didn’t explore much further and made good time heading back.
