Today we took a sunny road trip to Elgin to do the Elgin Explorer. After a massive roast dinner for lunch we headed to Elgin Cathedral (taking advantage from Historic Scotland doing free tickets during winter for attractions on the first Sunday of each month).

This landmark is huge and the history fascinating, I really enjoyed exploring! Continuing the walk from the cathedral we walked along the river still showing the last colours of the season up to Lady Hill and the Gordon Monument with the reward of a hazy sunset above the city. The highlight of my day was finding out that Elgin once had a castle and Rabbie Burns visited and enjoyed the same view as I did today! This was a cracking 5 mile urban wander and perfect for a Sunday stroll.
