The west was calling today, and to celebrate a friends early 50th we headed up to Torridon. The quickest I’ve ever grabbed my kit and hit the road. It was good to be back out, our first stop was the viewpoint at Kinlochewe where we enjoyed our brew with a view. The first walk was the Torridon boat house walk, a stunning short wander with the mighty Torridon giants reflecting on the stillness of the upper loch. I also met some lovely SWWG ladies!
Next stop was the famous Red Roof Cottage near Shieldaig, a quick pose of pictures and back along to the peninsula. We stopped for a very expensive dinner of chips and a shandy, watching the sun start to set, before heading to wander along the Shieldaig Peninsula. A last minute decision to bag the trig on Camas Ruadh before the light faded up steep heather and bog adding to the adventure. Nice to bag a Trigpoint at twilight where we found an easier path to descend and a 2km walk back to the car in the dark.
The smallest adventures make the best days out!
